SM Club Team 2024 decided
Men's Div 1
Our men's team went to Wittsjö last week to fight for promotion to the Elite division for 2025. The winners take the coveted place to the Elitserien. Vasatorp fell right on the finish line and it was only four strokes up to the winners Halmstad. Of the 14 teams that entered, only two teams were under par overall for the competition. It was the winning team Halmstad GK and Vasatorp.
The competition is played over 5 rounds in three days and 4 players/teams play each round:
Day 1 Foursome and single
Day 2 Foursome and best ball
Day 3 Single
Before the last day's singles, Vasatorp was in second place, 9 strokes up on the leader Halmstad. The boys really gave it a go and were the only team to go under par overall during the final day's singles(-4). Halmstad went +1 overall in the singles, which made the victory margin for Vasatorp 4 strokes. There are small margins considering that there are many shots that have been played.
1. Halmstad -17 strokes
2. Vasatorp -13 strokes
3. Ljunghusen and Landskrona +2 types
Players and caddies made a really good effort and next year we have a new opportunity to get up to the Elitserien!

Ladies Elite division
Our women's team went to Upsala GK to settle for the SM gold. Upsala GK offered a fantastic course with both challenging and more pleasant weather. Vasatorp landed in 10th place, which means that our women's team will remain in the top division in 2025. We have a young team with an average age of 19,1 years. Club team SM Elitserien is played over 4 days and a total of 6 rounds plus practice laps the day before the competition. The game forms alternate between Foursome, Bestball and Single. It's a marathon to get through this competition. The team improved every day and they stuck to the game plan despite the result not being as good as we know they can be and as they had hoped for. The team, which this year has been plagued by some injuries, is looking forward to an injury-free revenge next year!
