A Christmas and New Year's greeting from the chairman of Vasatorp Golf Club

Dear Vasatorp members!,

As we approach the end of the year, I would like, on behalf of the board, to extend a warm thank you to all of you for your commitment during the past year and wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

First, I would like to extend a big and warm thank you to the previous board, staff and members for the very good work that has been done in the years before 2025. The long-term and structured work that has been carried out has created a stable foundation for the organization.

When I took over as chairman, I took over a solid and well-developed basis that clearly identified a number of strategic decisions and choices, which in turn are considered to lead to the following:

The focus is on offering two of Sweden's best golf courses (TC ranking top-10, CC ranking top-25), a leading practice area and cost-effective and sustainable operation. The facility should be accessible to everyone and maintain the same high quality as the courses. The club should strengthen golf community, increase member value, ensure high level of service, create committed and satisfied employees and that all measures should lead to further strengthen the Vasatorp Golf Club brandFor each goal, clear development efforts are specified, such as plans for the courses, investments in facilities and technology, improved service and communication, member activities and skills development for staff.

The year 2025 has been a year filled with important and forward-looking decisions. This year's decisions follow and develop the previous year's guidelines that have jointly laid a solid foundation for Vasatorps Golfklubb's future development. We would like to briefly share with you the strategic initiatives that aim to strengthen our club and enhance the experience for you members:

  • Finance and future security: Through responsible work, we have secured a solid budget and investment plan for 2026. We have also increased the scope for flexible and extraordinary initiatives already in 2025. This reflects our ambition to pursue a stable and offensive economic strategy that we are convinced will bear fruit in the coming years.

  • Major projects and investments: Work on our Multipurpose Hall (MFH) is progressing according to plan, with an approved application from the General Inheritance Fund and a general contractor appointed. The conditions for implementation are clear, but a decision from the members remains. This decision will be made at the spring meeting in 2026. In addition, we have decided on several investments that will benefit our members: a new golf cart garage, expanded bag storage, modern robotic lawnmowers, new equipment for the range and a much-needed renovation of the clubhouse toilets. All of this is being done with the goal of further raising the standard and comfort of our fine facility.

  • Strategic focus areas: To ensure focused and efficient work, we have defined five strategic focus areas where the board and operational management will focus going forward. We have appointed responsible board members and operational contacts for each area:
    • Junior training: Sara Odelius, Jonas Lindström (representative from the board). Patrick Oderling (Operational manager).
    • Lanes: Patrik Staaf, Jonas Lindström (representative from the board). Pontus Albertsson, (Operational manager).
    • Real estate: Anders Willman, Ulrika Nordström, Mats Bergqvist (co-opted) (representative from the board). Louise Friberg (Operational manager)
    • Practice area/Range: Lennart Johansson, Anders Willman, Patrik Staaf (representative from the board). Pontus Albertsson (Operational manager).
    • The Club/Member Benefits: Ulrika Nordström, Sara Odelius, Niclas Folkesson (representative from the board). Louise Friberg, Emma Tyllström (Operational Manager).

With these efforts in place, we look forward with great joy and confidence to continuing to develop the club in the coming year and beyond. We are convinced that 2026 will be an exciting and successful year for Vasatorp Golf Club.

Thank you once again for your invaluable commitment and continued membership. We wish you all a peaceful weekend and all the best for the new year!

With best regards,
Niclas Folkesson
Chairman Vasatorp Golf Club, together with other members of the board

We take responsibility – and plan for better accessibility at Vasatorp Golf Club

⛳️ We take responsibility - and plan for better accessibility at Vasatorps Golfklubb 📆

During the year we have had several conversations with you members about accessibility at the club. We have listened, analyzed and compared the planning from both 2024 and 2025 – and it is clear that  clashes between activities have increasedThis shows that we have not been sharp enough in planning the annual cycle.

We have therefore conducted a thorough review of how external competitions, committee golf, corporate events, club competitions and course work have been organised. Our conclusion is clear: we need to plan smarter – and we are doing so now ✅

A more systematic work has now already begun and earlier work on setting the annual wheel for the coming year, with the goal of creating a better balance between activities and accessibility 🎯

We also want to be clearer in our communication around events. Instead of focusing on limitations, we want to highlight when and how you can play, train and be at the club – with a focus on accessibility and gaming fun 💚

This is an important part of our work to create the best possible experience for our members. We look forward to continuing to develop Vasatorp together with you - with more gaming fun, better planning and clearer information 🙌

Below you can see what 2024 and 2025 look like with events and starting bans on all courses in total.

Strategic restructuring of the ladies' business – Vasatorp DK 2026–2028

🌟 Strategic restructuring of the ladies' business – Vasatorp DK 2026–2028

Vasatorp Golf Club has had an active and appreciated women's committee for many years. Now we are taking the next step in development - with a strategic initiative that will strengthen and renew the activities for girls and women in golf.

🔍 Why are we doing this?

The current chair of the women's committee is ending her assignment after almost ten years, and we currently have no obvious successor. At the same time, we see a need to work more long-term and strategically with women's golf involvement - in line with the club's vision, mission and core values, as well as the Swedish Golf Association's strategy 2031.

🎯 What does the investment mean?

During the period Q4 2025 to Q1 2028 the women's committee is restructured into a strategic development project with the following objectives:

  • Target group analysis – from juniors to seniors, beginners to competitive players
  • Activity development – tailored training, competitions and social events
  • Communication & visibility – clear presence in the club's channels
  • Leadership development – identify future leaders and create sustainable structure
🧩 How is the project organized?

The project is led by club manager Louise Friberg together with a project group consisting of representatives from the current women's committee, staff and board. The group reports quarterly to the board and has been given a mandate to drive the work forward.

📅 Timeline in brief:
  • Q4 2025: Project start and target group analysis
  • 2026–2027: Implementation of activities and evaluation
  • 2028: Handover to new chairman and committee

Vasatorp players make history in the USA!

🎉 Vasatorp players make history in the USA!⛳️

We are incredibly proud of Ebba Liljeberg, who recently started his college studies at University of Missouri (Mizzou) – and what a debut she makes! 💥

In his very first competition, Sam Golden Invitational in Denton, Texas, Ebba stood for a unparalleled effort:

🏆 Individual victory: -19 total – whole nine strokes ahead of second
🔥 Second round: 61 strokes (-11) – one tied NCAA record
???? Team Mizzou set a new school record: 824 strokes (-40)

Ebba contributed greatly to the team taking home the team victory, and at the same time set new track record! 💪

At Vasatorp we are happy and proud to have so many players who have been educated with us and are now continuing their development at college in the USA. Ebba's success is further proof of how our players developing internationally, while they inspires and acts as role models for our younger golfers here at home. 🌱✨
