📍 Questions, thoughts and some praise from the members
During the week, Louise and Pontus sat in the clubhouse to meet members and answer questions or just sit and chat. There were many fruitful conversations, and below is a summary of what was discussed.
Several members raised questions about booking procedures. This included that some people book tee times but don't show up, and that arrival registration is sometimes missed. We also received questions about what actually applies according to our booking rules. We work hard to remind you to cancel if you don't intend to play, to book the right number of players in the ball, and that everyone should register on arrival. We would like to remind you here again:)
There was an interest in knowing how much of the play is made up of guests and members respectively. Below you can see the proportion of guest and member play on our courses. We have also reviewed the booking pattern, i.e. when players tend to book in for their time. The figures below apply from April 1st until May 26th.
(I.e. Tournament Course & Classic Course
Share of games:
Mon–Thurs: 84% members
Fri–Sun: 78% members
Sat–Sun: 75% members
Booking pattern:
Members book on average 6–8 days in advance
Guests book on average 28–43 days in advance
(I.e. Park Course
Share of games:
Mon–Thurs: 88% members
Fri–Sun: 85% members
Sat–Sun: 85% members
Booking pattern:
Members book on average 2–3 days in advance
Guests book on average 10 days in advance
(I.e. Western 9th
Share of games:
We don't have as reliable statistics on the West 9 as the other courses. There are usually free times on the West 9 and most people play spontaneously on this course.
Booking pattern:
Members and guests book on average less than 1 day in advance
Some were curious about the membership development. We are in a phase of budgeting regarding membership and income. There are several memberships that are more popular among newer golfers or those who start later in the year. We now see that there is some movement there and we are still getting more members, especially in the Park and Practice memberships. We see that the movement we simulated in connection with the fee change last fall was quite consistent with the current situation we have today.
Several wondered how best to help keep the courses in good condition. Here is a list of some of the things we expect you as a player to take responsibility for when playing:
* Put the turf back and spread sand over it (you will find sandbags on the way to all courses).
* Always rake bunkers after you.
* Place the rake in the bunker in the direction of play.
* Repair your (and others') putt marks on the greens.
📦 There was also a request for more divot bags - we'll bring it with us!
There were questions about the noise barrier and the forestation:
We have divided the noise barrier into three parts. The first and northernmost part of the noise barrier is now filled to the bottom. The top of the barrier remains, which will be done when the entire base of the noise barrier is filled. The project is expected to continue for just over a year. It all depends on the amount of material available and approved for us to receive. As the next step, we have cleared the southernmost third of the noise barrier to be ready to receive more material. We are making a good turning area available for the trucks that transport the material to the barrier. Right now it doesn't look so nice and you can hear the traffic clearly, especially at that section, but we hope to be able to receive more material soon and thus begin that part of the barrier. We will take the last third, which is the middle section of the barrier, as the last step. The final stage of the project involves planting various suitable plants to make it look beautiful to the eye.
Questions arose about mowing heights and fertilization:
Right now, TC is cut at a height of 3,0 mm and Classic at a height of 3,2 mm. We do not fertilize more than necessary. We make careful measurements of our areas and adjust accordingly what, when and how much to put out and also water.
There was a bit of talk about hole 5 and that they are experiencing a big difference after the renovation, for the better. It's great that so many people appreciate the change!
There is a demand for grass tees. The challenge we have is that we have significantly fewer places when grass tees are open, and that the grass wears down incredibly quickly and it takes time for it to grow back. We are trying to find a solution to this.
There were also questions about:
Charging posts – these are now active!
🔌 Charge via the MER Connect app, price: SEK 5/kWh.
The parking lot – the lines may be repainted during autumn/winter.
Bag storage – questions about when a possible reconstruction/expansion of the bag storage room can take place. We have it up to the board level and in a longer investment plan there is a “bag storage project”. We do not yet have the basis for making a decision and therefore have not set a time frame for the project.
We would like to end with a big thank you for all the positive feedback we received!
Many expressed appreciation for the condition of the courses, the work of the staff and the development of the club. This warms and motivates us in our continued work!
