🏌️ Why do we organize big competitions?
Several members have asked curious questions about why we as a club choose to organize larger competitions. We would like to share our thoughts with the rest of the members.
Hosting major competitions is not just an opportunity to showcase our course and organization. It is also part of our long-term work to create a top-class golf experience, develop the club and contribute to the future of golf – both locally and nationally.
🌍 We are not an isolated island
We are part of something bigger. As a member of Swedish Golf Association and sports sweden We have a responsibility – and an opportunity – to contribute to the development of golf. This means, among other things, that we regularly take on the role of organizer. It is a way of giving back to the community we are a part of.
When it comes to this year's big competition, it is European Golf Association (EGA) who is behind the arrangement. The Swedish Golf Association has been asked to act as the host country – and in turn has Vasatorp Golf Club been asked to organize the competition. City of Helsingborg is also an important partner in the arrangement.
It is a collaboration in which several actors are involved:
🤝 Visit Skåne, City of Helsingborg, the business community in the region and our partner hotel – which offers special packages to players and guests – are all involved and contributing.
We are proud to be part of this larger context and to be able to contribute to our hometown and municipality through an event that puts both Helsingborg and Skåne on the map.

Organizing competitions is also an important part of our development. It gives us the opportunity to:

We know that competitions sometimes affect the accessibility of the track. But we see it as a temporary effort for a larger purpose. By being an active part of sports Sweden, developing our operations and creating pride around the club, we are building something that benefits all members – both today and in the future.
